I don't know where they went, but I do know they got married in Madison Co, KY; Madison Co records show this:
Sapp, John married Isabella Gray, 5 Jan 1791; Richard West was bondsman; bond was returned on 6 Jan 1791
then I show this:
Sapp, Hartley married Polly Wilson, 20 Nov 1811; John Wilson signed as bondsman, with John Wilson swearing as to age of the bridge; bond was returned 21 Nov 1811
I hope this helps, these were the only two Sapp males who married in Madison Co between 1786 & 1822, so apparently they left before any children were old enough to get married. However, I do have a marriage record for
Sapp, Patience to Jonathan West, 9 Sept 1793; bondsman was Frederick Sapp; no date given for return of bond.
