Hi Betty, your welcome and I would like to welcome you to the Mexico DNA Project. You have ordered the mitochondrial dna test. This test will tell you the origin of your ancestrial line starting with your mothers mothers ... mothers line. This dna has been passed from mother to daughter only.

You can test your Santos line with the ydna test from a male Santos relative. This type of dna is passed only from father to son. My Santoscoy line is from Jalisco and we may be related.

We have a project Project forum here:
http://www.ybase.org/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=511

Once your sample is received you will be getting a webpage from familytreedna letting you know the status of your testing and then the results. You will be notified as mtDNA matches occur. Your webpages will be updated as necessary every 2 weeks.

I have plans to add a Mitochondrial (mtdna) DNA webpage as interest and discoveries develop and will be contacting you concerning posting if you wish. The project has about 75 other mtdna test results thus far.

I have taken this test and have read many books now on Genealogy related DNA testing so if there is anything you need to know I can help.

Email me anytime.
