This just the tip of the Iceburg but many of the PA Santee were Black or FPC. The early Santees came from the Carribean speaking French but were Carib Indians.
The name Santee in the North Carolina Croatan Tribe is a name disticnt to the Tribe the Dakotas are across the Misssissippi 800 miles away. The Croatan Melungeans were swamp and river Indians the Dakotas were plains Indians who followed the Buffalo.
