Hello, All. Might we be able to resolve some considerable differences in postings on the family of Ann Nancy DANIEL, 1753-1839, who married Absolom EILAND, 1750-1814, in 1775? This EILAND family's association with James DANIELL of Fairfield County, SC, and of Greene and Hancock Cos., GA in the 1780s and 90s, coupled with their naming a son Levi Daniel EILAND in 1791 has intrigued me for years. James youngest son was Levi, my third great-great-grandfather. CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE suggests that Ann DANIEL, 1753-1839, may be a daughter of James DANIELL of Fairfield County, South Carolina and Hancock County, Georgia and his as yet unknown first wife. This tentative assignment MAY NOT BE CORRECT. Some post Ann and Absolom married in 1775 in Fairfield County, SC. Some post that her father was James DANIEL (d. bef 5 May 1798 in Hancock Co., GA) and her mother an Ann Nancy SANKEY who purportedly died 18 January 1814 in Baldwin County, GA; BUT, this Nancy was not a SANKEY. She was Nancy HARDWICK, the second wife and widow of James DANIELL who remarried to James BARROW in 1802. The case for Ann being James' daughter and why James' widow cannot be Ann Nancy SANKEY is posted at http://roloda.googlepages.com/home. Click "What is correct?" on the right side of the page. A coordinated effort could resolve all this. The compilations and explanations are a bit long to post here. It will also be easier to make corrections in a single place rather than trying to correct numerous copies of a post and miss one. Why leave errors on line only to be copied and reposted by others? Challenges, corrections, and additional information are welcome, solicited, and appreciated. Looking forward to any and all assistance. Bob Daniell Notify Administrator about this message?
