Trying to uncover the Stratford Sangters

My grandmother is a Sangster, all I know is that her family's been here for two or three generations (so probably around the mid to late 1800's), I was told the original Sangster to come over was a horse theif and that he stowed away on a ship to get here. She and her family live in Perth county (Stratford)Ontario so I assume they've been there at least most of the time. Her father's name was James Sangster, her name is Evelyn Sangster and her brother is Ken Sangster. If anyone knows anything about this line I would appreciate any information.
