Hi Paul,
I spent two days in Brownsville, TN, researching this family, who other researchers show to be the father of my ggrfather, James Withers Sangster, but it proved to not be so.I am still searching for his parents.
information on this family is found in the Brownsville Public Library, written by a dau - i think.
Prominent Tennessians, pg. 60 and Tennessee Tidbits 1778 - 1914, Vol. 1:John Sangster, a farmer, moved to Davidson Co., TN, in 1820.In 1835 he removed to West Tennessee where he died in 1855.
John is buried in Sangster Cemetery, Brownsville on Hwy 59N, past church in city limits, turn on field road and its on a hill up that road. - this info was found in the Brownsville Library.By the way I could never find the cemetery by these directions.
Implied Marriages of Fairfax, VA R929.37552 H6231, pg. 191: Sangster, ___ & Mary, dau of Francis Coffer (WBL1.157 Dallas Public Library.
I have names of their children if you need them.
