Hi Brian
Sadly, the Mseum is closed with all its archives within until further notice and they find another building to use.
You said write a new history of Margate, its much more than that. Have a look at at our old website to give you some idea as to what was housed in there.http://home.btconnect.com/margatemuseum/ResearchArchive.htmlhttp://home.btconnect.com/margatemuseum/ResearchArchive.html
I am quite surprised that you have only just 'heard' of Hall by the Sea considering the Sanger's had a Circus in situ here for nigh on 50 years. I cannot post pictures on this site sadly.
I have a lot of information on the Reeve side as Thomas Dalby Reeve was Margate Mayor in 1874 and 1875, he actually died in office, but he built much of Cliftonville to the east of Margate and many buildings in Margate. His brother ran the Mineral Water factory here.
Has any one ever got back past James Sanger c1775 who married Mary Ellen Elliot or Miss Elliott?
