My family is difficult.

From my moms dad I have Harold B Marbet (b 08 April 1903 Washington, d. Sept 1961 Washington), adopted by Max Marbet (b. July 1872 Solenthorn, Switzerland, d. 27 Dec 1945 Washington) and mother Ida Sanger (b 1880, d. 08 Nov 1952 Washington). Harold married Clara Selki (b 1908 Germany, d. 1959 Washington). Now, Clara's parents Herman JT Selki (b 1884 Germany d 1960 Bellingham, Wa) and Erma (b 1889 Latvia d. Washington) were in Germany and were seperated in one of the camps. They both remarried and both came back to Seattle. Herman remarried Birtha from Latvia, died in Germany, and remarried Henry Burgman. Because of the camps and such, I don't know much more then that on the 4 of them.

From my moms mom I have Roy Erickson (b 1906 Auskalusa, Iowa m. 1929, d. 02 Mary 1985 Seattle, Washington) father is Albert Erickson (b 22 May 1868 Sweeden, m 1891 Iowa, d 06 July 1952 King COunty, Washington) mother Josie L Moore (b june 1874 Oskaloosa, Mahaska, Iowa) Roy married Marie Bertha McKinstry (b 13 March 1908 Washington, d. 29 May 1992 Seattle, Wa) I think Marie's father was Lee McKinstry, born in Barbadoes and his father Thomspon Walter McKinstry was from Ireland. Marie's mother was Birtha Chetwynd Bishop from Nova Scotia. I remember someone saying that the Bishops were the same Bishop family that settled in Hawaii, but I haven't found anything on them yet.

My dads side is a little easier. His dad was Charlie Lafayette Goolsby b 09 Sept 1922 Baker Co Georgia, d 02 April 1952) His parents were Charles Walker Goolsby (b 20 June 1877 Calhoun, Ga d 26 april 1943 Arlington, Ga) and Martha Gertrude McDaniel (b 18 Jan 1889 Quitman, Ga d 10 Oct 1969 Decatur, DeKalb, Ga) I traced the Goolsby men back to John Gouldsby b 1646 in England. Mattie McDaniel is another story. I have no idea who her father was but I am pretty sure her mother is Cate McDaniel b Feb 1862 in Georgia.

My dads mother is Edrie, born to George Edward Sumption (b 26 march 1902 London Surrey, United Kingdom d 21 Nov 1994) and Florence Blake (b May 1905 Wrangell Alaska) George's parents are Joseph Edwin Sumption (b 22 Jan 1875 Bognor, Sussex, England) and Rose Mande Jones (b 04 may 1874 Bognor Regis, Sussex, England d 14 may 1967 Bremerton, Wa) Florence came from George Blake (Dec 1867 Alaska, d 19 Jan 1942 Wrangell Alaska) and Eva Koonk (b July 1877 Alaska) George is 1/2 Tlingit Indian and Eva Koonk is full blood Tlingit. Both of their lines are confusing after this.

I just started my research last fall so I don't have many source records yet, just the few census records and family trees from the internet. My family is so spread out it is hard to sit down and talk to them being on the east coast, Florida and Washington.

thanks for your help!
Heather
