I'm looking for more information on this family prior to 1800: Jose Manuel (Sr)(born before 1795?) m. Maria Josefa Lopez. He died in Chamisal, she is buried at Picuris. His father is Manuel Sandoval of Chamisal, according to the baptismal record at San Lorenzo de Picuris for Jose Manuel Jr. b.1817.

I'd like to know Manuel's family and ancestry.

This Sandoval family moved to the Mora Valley of NM in mid 1800's and have descendants in Chacon, NM at the turn of the century (1900). The old census name for their location in Chacon is "Agua Negra Arriba". They were Presbeterians who donated the land for the "El Rito de Agua Negra" church (1879). Several of the family became ministers or lay deacons there and elsewhere in NM.
