I recently have researched the Indiana Sandoes in an attempt to match them to my Pennsylvania line. I haven't yet connected them, but do believe they will hook up.
I have a Henry Sandoe (B. abt 1915 Indiana) adopted son of Jesse Ethelburt(b. 22 Feb 1880 IN d. ?) and Myrtle L. Shockey (b. 1882 IN d. ?) they were married 1 Nov 1903 and had three adopted children: Mary E. (b. 1910); Pearl M. (b. 1913) and Henry P. (b. 1915).
Jesse was the son of Samuel Jacob Sandoe (b. Jun 1857 IN d. 10 Mar 1917 Muncie, IN) and Elizabeth J. Cox (b. abt 1852 OH d. bef 1900). They were married 26 Dec 1877 and had at least 4 children (possibly 5): Jesse E. (b. 1880) Anna O. (b. Feb 1882); John W. (b. Jul 1885); Otis Loyd (b. 15 Jan 1881) and possibly a daughter Laura.
Is this your family? Would love to share info. My interest in the Indiana Sandoes is that one of my Sandoe ancestors was a minister who lived for a time in Indiana and would have had children who came of age while he was there. I have not accounted for all those children and their descendants, so I started researching in Indiana to see if I could find out where the Sandoes there came from. Looks like the first Sandoes there were a Peter Sandoe (b. 1826 OH d. 25 Jul 1862 AL-Civil War) and then a John B. Sandoe (b. Mar 1827 OH d. 26 Jun 1905 Yorktown IN). That John was married to a Susan (unk surname) and had six children including Samuel Jacob Sandoe, father of Jesse.
Hope to hear from you.
