I observed Jerry R. Witt's response to Linda Sandlin regarding our Sandlin line..."OUR" because Jerry and I share that maternal Sandlin grandmother that he mentioned, Jerry is my first cousin.
To elaborate a little on our line, the records that have been passed on to me by older family researchers indicate the Scottish connection and the earliest ancestor was apparently James Sanderling, m. Ann ______?,their son Nicholas Sandlon hadson named John Sandland, who had a son named John Sandland m. May _____?, their son Nicholas Sandlin was the first of our line to use the current spelling, Nicholas was born in 1771 and married Ann Bolin.Their son was John Sandlin b.1800 m. Janet Jane Clark.Their son Nicholas Sandlin b. may 1828 m. Susannah Wommack, and their son John Newton "Jet" Sandlin b. 10-27-1858 d.10-15-1900, m. Mary A. Towry and then Sarah "Sallie" Cox.
