My ggrandmother who was a Green who married a Sandlin applied for Cherokee citizenship based it on her grandfather. Unfortunately, he didn't register on the Indian rolls either so she was denied. Her daughter, my grandmother, married a Sandlin too. Both my grandfather Sandlin and my grandmother Sandlin looked Indian as does my entire family. I'd love to be able to prove the Indian connection.
