I am a descendant of Peter Sandifer of Barnwell, SC (also Cornelius Carr of Barnwell) and have come across a number of documents of transactions withConrad Augley, and other documents where Conrad Augley was a witness.
Recorded in Barnwell County, SC Deed Book B, p. 14, October 26, 1804, Conrad Augley and his wife Rosenah apparently leased the land to Peter Sandifer for $1 prior to the 1806 sale.
I have a copy of a survey of 588 acres for Conrad Augley dated September 19, 1803 showing land adjoining Peter Sandifer on a branch of Millers Swamp, Waters of the Big Salketcher River, Barnwell County.
There is an 1807 mortgage from Isham Carr to Conrad Augley, and later a deed from Augley to Carr involving the following described property:
"All that plantation piece and parcel of Land where I now live and reside containing four hundred and fifty acres be it more or less being the hole of a tract of land granted to John George Bischoff and part of a tract granted Killis Hallford and part of a tract granted to James Brabham with ???lying on said land bounded by lands of Leoney Boutwell and John Boutwell and by land of Peter Sandifer and Robert Goog and said Augley...."
In your research if you have come across any other information about Peter Sandifer or anything about Carrs in Barnwell, I would very much appreciate receiving it.If you want additional information from the deeds I have, contact me at [email protected].
