Help Needed Regarding Eliza Sandidge of Illinois (1851-1918)
Posted by: Charles Hill (ID *****7760) Date: December 10, 2005 at 11:55:00

I would appreciate any help getting more information about Eliza H. Sandidge of Illinois. Here is what I have:

From the Illinois Statewide Marriage Index: Eliza H. Sandidge married William G. Hill on November 22, 1870 in St. Clair.

From the 1880 Federal Census (St. Clair, Illinois): She is listed in William G. Hill's household as Eliza, age 28, keeping house, born in Illinois; father from Virginia; Mother from Illinois.

From the 1860 Federal Census (St. Clair): The census lists two Sandidge/Sandridge families in St. Clair: (1) Samuel (from Virginia) and Elizabeth (from Illinois) with five children - none named Eliza but one was named Lucy H (age 9); (2) Jordan (from Virginia) and Martha with no children having a name even close to Eliza's.

I cannot establish definitively that this Lucy is my ancestor Eliza. Is she? Does anyone know anything (or anything more) about her?

Thanks.

- Charles Hill
