Elsie Thalimer Sanderson 1850's NJ Boston
Posted by: Brooke Gale Date: November 28, 2001 at 13:53:13
  of 1884

I am looking for any info about the parents, siblings, etc. of my ggrandmother Elsie Thalimer Sanderson. My grandmother's birth certificate says that her mother's name was Elsie Thalimer Sanderson who was born in Elizabeth New Jersey in 1878. My dad says that he thinks that his ggrandmothers name was Mary and her maiden name was Ten Eyck. A book entitled "Men of Nineteen-Thirteen" shows my grandfather Darsie Campbell Bard married Elsie Thalimer Sanderson Dec 15, 1902 in Boston. A newspaper article about Elsie says that she was a child in Boston and that her brother's name was Jim (he was 6 years younger). It states that after Elsie married Darsie, she changed her name to Sydney because this was supposedly the name of her father and grandfather. Sydney(Elsie)died in Monterrey, CA 1957. She had 5 children. Ann Elizabeth Bard (Betty MacDonald-author of "The Egg and I", "Mrs. Piggle Wiggle", and several others) Mary Bard Jensen (also an author) Dorthea Darsie Bard (Goldsmith), Allison Bard (Beck), and Sidney Cleveland Bard I don't know how accurate some of this is because much of it is from books and newspapers and it seems that newspapers often get names and dates mixed up. If anyone has any information that would help me I would be glad to share anything I might know.
