I am doing research on the German Baptist Church in Muscatine,IA who are celebrating their 150th anniversary this year. I am aware that John Henry was imprisoned for a period in Germany for his Baptist beliefs but I do not have any information on how he was connected to the Baptist movement. I have found the ship logs of his departure from Germany and arrival in New York and the lady ,Wilhelmine, that came with the family. He was the first pastor when the church was organized. I would appreciate any information that you may have concerning him. Please e-mail to
