You've probably discovered this by now, but in the hopes of stirring up new conversation, I'll post it:
Joseph A. Mercer married Anna C. (or K, depending on how you spell Kristina/Christina, her grandmother's name) Larson. Anna was born Feb 1871 in Smokey Hill, Lindsborg, McPherson Co., KS.
August Mercer married Hannah Larson, born Mar 1873 in Smokey Hill as well.
Hanna & Anna were the daughters of Lars Larsson & Marta Jansdotter, both of Gavle, Sweden. Lars was born 18 Mar 1840 in Hille, Gavle, Sweden and died in 1928 in McPherson Co., KS
Marta was born 26 Aug 1839 in Hamrange, Gavle, Sweden. She died in 09 Oct 1900, probably in Williamson Co., TX.
Lars was the son of Lars Larsson, who was born 17 May 1817 in Hille, Gavle, Sweden. He was married to Kristina Hagman or Stina Hagman who was born 29 Feb 1812 in Hille, as well. Lars, Kristina, their daughter Kristina, and the younger Lars & family all came to America in 1868.
After travelling through Chicago, they all settled in the Smoky Hill River Valley in Kansas. They stayed there for a time until Lars Jr.'s son, Johan Lars Larson developed consumptive lungs and they moved south to the Round Rock, TX region.
That's when Anna & Hannah met August & Joseph.
From census data & the book "Pioneer Swedish American Culture in Central Kansas", it appears that Anna died before 1909, & August died before 1910--because Hannah was listed as a widow in the 1910 Sherman Co., TX Census data.
