Resident--Sacramento,California
Parents--S.C.Sanborn (First superintendent of the Tomah Indian School) and mother Mary Hoye Sanborn
Age--Lieut. William E. Sanborn was 30 years old
Service--World War I in Aviation Signal Corp
Work--Employed as a pilot in the Air Mail Service
Circumstances of Death--During his employment in the Air Mail Carrier Service; a storm came up and his plane ended up out of control crashing to earth.
Miles Flown --Since 1918 he had flown 135,000 miles and never an accident until the one accident resulting in his death. (Source "The Tomah Journal" dated May 13, 1927)
