Hi, I don't know if this will help but. 13 Oct 1774 Caroline CO.,VA Court record says: William Martin gives a gift to Betty Martin, Peggy Martin and Ann and Giles Samuel. I don't know their connection to Martin. Also around 1800 a Russell Martin and wife moved to Franklin CO.,KY. Around 1818-1820 to Calloway CO.,MO. It appears others went from the Caroline area also. The Samuell Book says a Henry Martin married a Elizabeth Samuel. It doesn't give more data.
I'm a Martin researcher in Essex and Caroline. I know there was also Samuel land over near Martin, Rogers etc near South River area western Caroline CO. John Samuel died by Oct 1742, his relict Sarah adm his estate in Caroline. She then married James Colquitt. She died June 1796 Essex. Her maiden name was Coghill. The Colquitt land was next to James Samuel who married Sarah Boulware and John Martin (he died 1741 Essex. Later deeds in Essex prove some of this.John and Sarah Samuel had a son William who died 1808 Henry CO.,KY.
