In building the Abraham Sampson (Duxbury by 1638) Source Database (see www.PilgrimHenrySamsonKindred.org), I have come across a Myles Sampson (I am spelling it “Myles” here to keep them straight although it appears as Miles in the VR) in the Medford, Middlesex, MA, Vital Records who married a Sally S. (ca. 1793-1824), maiden name not given. They had at least 5 children: Sarah (1816-?), Miles Jr. (1817-1883 – apparently died unmarried), Eden (1819-1882), Elizabeth S. (1821), and Henry C. (1823-1823). Son Eden, a caulker, married Mary Ann Tufts (age 31), daughter of Nathan and Mary, May 27, 1844. “Myles” apparently remarried following Sally’s death a Charlotte Pierce (parents not given) in Medford on 10 or 11 Apr 1825. Does anyone claim descent from this “Myles” Sam(p)son or know of his parents, their dates, and places of birth and death? I could also use any descendant’s information. The intent is to bring as many lines as possible up to and including the 1930 Federal Census. I have a feeling that “Myles” may have been the same one who married a Mrs. Mary Bannister on 1 Oct 1843 in Cambridge, MA. Cambridge VR lists them as “both of Charlestown” at the time of marriage. He was a son of Abraham’s 3rd great grandson Miles (1776-bef 1822). I am unable to find the linking source. Thus, I am thinking: Abraham Sampson (Duxbury by 1638) Abraham Sampson and Lora Standish Miles and Sarah Studley Miles and Deborah Bonney Miles and Naomi Stetson “Myles” and (1) Sally S. (unknown- anyone know it?) [married: (2) Charlotte Pierce and has daughter Mary who marries Henry Jones; (3) Mrs. Mary Bannister] Sarah, Miles, Eden (I have his daughter Angeline’s line up to 1930), Elizabeth S., Henry C. Sampson Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated. Since this is for the “Source database,” sources are needed if possible. Stacy B. C. Wood, Jr. Notify Administrator about this message?
