It's been several years since your first post--so this may be old news--but I ran into your note and thought I'd post a quick reply. I am related to this family through my Pettypoole/Pettyipool/P'Pool/Pool/Poole family ofTraveler's Rest, Greenville, SC.
In reply to your post--I wanted to offer a few snippets:
I believe "Professor Newby" is related to my ggg-grandfather, LeRoy Newby. He married Mahala Springfield. When he died, she married Rev. Stephen Powell, a Baptist minister who began the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Traveler's Rest, SC.
Seth P. Poole and Maiden Seay Pace are also my ggg-grandparents. They had, according to my records,*13 children.* Anna/Annie, may have been named after her grandmother Anna STREET, wife ofWilliam Pettypool.
