Photo currently < http://www2.mem.com/ContentDisplay.aspx?ID=16102391 > Lucille Salyer King, 84, of Kingsport, Sullivan Co TN, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at 3:40 p.m., Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Scott Co VA, on September 19, 1924, a daughter of the late Daniel K. and Margaret M. Cox Salyer, she has resided in this area her entire life. Mrs. King was a homemaker and member of Lynn Garden Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving mom, mamaw and friend who loved gardening, traveling and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Aaron O. King, 1991; and by seven brothers, Ivory Marshall, Emory Salyer, Earl Salyer, Romey Salyer, Roy Salyer, Ezra Salyer, and Lonnie Salyer; and by two sisters, Nola S. Hill and Margie S. Smith. Survivors include five children, Gary King and wife Cecilia of Kingsport, TN, Ann Moore and husband Alan of Bristol, TN, Wayne King and wife Vickie of Kingsport, TN, Greg King of Mt. Carmel, TN, and Tammy King of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren, Laura Erwin and husband Allen, Jason Moore and wife Michelle, Kristy Moore, Aaron B. King, Adam B. King, and Andy B. King; two great-grand- children, McKenzie and Jarrett Moore; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Holston Medical Group Doctors and staff for their compassionate care and to special friends, Bill Rich, Betty Wills, Charles and Mary Lou Callahan, and Walker Darnell. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2009, at East Lawn Funeral Home and at other hours at the residence. Services will be conducted at 7 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2009, in the chapel with Pastor Michael Wyre officiating. Special music will be provided by Carroll Hurd. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2009, in East Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Gale Hartley officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons and other family members, Allen Erwin, and Alan Moore. Those attending the committal services are asked to assemble at the gravesite by 10:45 a.m., Saturday. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Lynn Garden Baptist Church Elevator Fund, 301 May Avenue, Kingsport, TN 37665.
