Obituary for Carol 'Chris' Horne, Weber City, VA

Carol Christine 'Chris' Horne, 62, died Monday, September 3,
2007, at her residence with her loving family by her
side. She was born in Scott Co VA, on November 4, 1944,
and was the daughter of the late William Olen Salyer and
Madge Nickels Salyer. She retired from Kingsport Press
after 40 years of service. She attended Bible Way Church
and Emmaus Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Larry J. Horne, of the home;
daughter, Janet C. Horne Phillips and husband, Charles,
Blountville, TN; son, Michael J. Horne and wife, Delilha,
Nickelsville, VA; grandchildren, Ben and Tosha Hall and
Charlie and Keesha Phillips, all of Kingsport, TN; great-
grandchildren, Walker and Grace Hall and Brayden and Gaven
Phillips, all of Kingsport, TN; sisters, Barbara Salyer
Testerman and husband, Jim, Harrington, DE, and Melinda
Salyer Burke, Kingsport, TN; brothers, William paul Salyer
and wife, Gwen, Jonesville, VA, Thomas Harold Salyer and
wife, Louise, Nickelsville, VA; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 7,
2007, at Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, VA, and other
times at the residence.

Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home
chapel at 8 p.m. September 7, 2007, with Bro. Johnny
Gibson, Bro. Travis Boling and Bro. harold Hawkins
officiating. Sincerity will provide the music.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Holston
View Cemetery. The family will meet at the funeral home
at 12:15 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Billips, Tommy Burke,
Rex Arnold, Perry Salyer, Gil Salyer, Darrell McConnell,
Bryan Salyer and Charles Phillips II. Honorary pallbearers
will be Ben Hall, Cecil Stapleton and Jim Phillips.

The family would like to extend thanks to Dr. Jason Brazee
and Wellmont Hospice for all their great concern and care.
It was deeply appreciated. And a very special thanks to
her wonderful friend, Debbie Culbertson and Donna Ball,
for their love and care extended to Christine and her
family.
