I am so glad you replyed. Thanks.
I know there are Saltzmans from Austria, at least my Mom's cousin says we're from there and that the family was Protestant. But every Saltzman I've found in my searchs is Jewish so perhaps it is like your family who became Catholic via marriage. Besides in the World War 2 days it wasn't a good time to be Jewish.
