Hi Mary Ann, Read with interest your information on Susannah Saltsman, daughter of Peter. I found Peter Saltsman on tax list in 1789 in Fayette County, Ky. along with Andrew and William. They are there in in 1792 along with a Jacob, and again in 1796. By 1799 only Andrew is listed. Andrew stays in the part of Fayette that becomes Jessamine and by 1808 the name has changed to Alsman. Eventually Andrew goes to Sullivan County, Indiana where the name is consistently Alsman. Some of his children move on to Christian County, Illinois where the name is again changed to Allsman.
Do you have any idea where your Peter was before Ky. and any idea what the relationship may have been between Peter and Andrew.
Thanks for any help you may offer.

Jo Ann Brant Schmidt
