Information from census and "local Salters" (Sabine Parish, Louisiana) indicate that James Salter (born in GA) married Martha Speight (born in GA).Children were Moses S. (Buried Miller Graveyard, Ward 2, Sabine Parish), William Jefferson (born AL 11/27/1877, died 02/01/1904, buried Antioch Baptist Church Cemetary or Dess Cemetary), Martha, Clark, A.M., Narcissa, and Nancy.
According to Larry Salter, Negreet, La., (phone is Many, La. listing) his grandfather was George Salter, great grandfather was Enoch A. Salter and ggg was Abraham Salter. He speaks of a Salter graveyard that is possibly lost. They lived on the North side of Negreet Bayou.Abraham should be a brother to James Salter.
Please post any information about these that you have and about Zadock E. and Andrew J.
My gg was Willaim Jefferson Salter and Charlotte Miller Salter. G - Jefferson Charletta and Mary Emma Antony Salter. F - Charlie W. Salter and Annie Laverne Brown.
