Ok I am trying to find if there is a connection with these two families and if so what it is. Family 1: James Salter born about 1808 Arrived Australia 2nd December 1829 Ship Morley Occupation Weaver & Butchers labourer Native Place: Lincoln, England Age & Marital Status : 21yo and single Religion: Protestant Crime: Housebreaking - stealing a watch to the value of 20 shillings belonging to a John Grundy at Scampton on 24th December 1828 (9 Geo 4 (1828)) He had a previous conviction at the city of Lincoln on 24th April 1819 (59 Geo 3 (1819)) Trial Date: 14 March, 1829 He is in the Crown Minute Book which covers Lincoln Assizes of Lent 1829 (ASSI 11/4) held by the PRO He died 15th July 1884 aged 76 years. Family 2: John and Bridget Salter (and family) arrived from London as assisted immigrants on the Lady Ann 2 October 1854. I found a marriage for a John Salter and Bridget Fitzpatrick 7 July 1850, Saint Leonards, Shoreditch, London, England which may be them. John & Bridget are buried in the Anglican section of the Dawson River Cemetery in Taree a town in the Manning Valley, NSW Australia.
