Samuel Salter born in Baltimore about 1753

Looking for info on Samuel Salter, who served in the Revolutionary War. We believe that he was born in Baltimore about 1753. He married Bridget Shea before 1782. They raised their family in Uniontown, PA and Samuel moved to Portsmouth, OH after Bridget's death. We have lots of info on their descendants, but know nothing about his parentage.

There is a record of a marriage between a Samuel Salter and Mary Pendergrast or Penderghast 26 Dec 1753 at St. John's Parish, Baltimore, Maryland. This Samuel was from Bromley, Kent, England. These could possibly be the parents of Samuel b. 1753.

Any info on this marriage or the Salter Family in Maryland or Kent would be greatly appreciated. Several researchers have been pursuing this, but we seem to have hit the proverbial brick wall.
