Garroll,
Polly Kirk Marcum and Joseph Marcum were Monterville's parents. Fanny Salmons was Monterville's wife and William C.'s mother. Sorry if my posting was misleading.

A Salmon's family researcher says Fanny is the illegitimate daughter of William Crisp. Since her mother was a Salmons, she received the Salmons surname from her. Has any of your research indicated this?
