Thanks Peggy, I agree with your conclusion on the marital status of widower also.Do you know where Mary Elizabeth is buried?Could it be the same place where James is buried in Austin Cemetery there in Old Walnut Ridge?
I recently received a copy of the marriage licenses for Etheline Wilson Sallings, Henry's sister. She married CharlesBurl Sailes, Madeline and Weldon's father, on Feb 4, 1912.
Then they divorced not sure when but I am in contact with Weldon's daughter who lives in Texas and she told me that her granddad passed away in 1934 in Port Arthur, TX. He drowned and there was a big search for him.Etheline married William Thomas Griffith on June 17, 1918.She was 25 and he was 43. They had 6 children, Billy, Robert, J.D., Johnny, Edna, and Mary Sue.Mr. Griffith passed away, not sure when, and she married Mr. Arch Parrish on May 18, 1940She was 48 and he was 66.I see that she was living in Charlotte, Independence Co, AR at the time and returned to Walnut Ridge where Mr. Parrish owned a store. She was married to Mr. Parrish until her death in 1965.
Also, I acquired the marriage certificate for Henry W. Sallings and Ruby E. Lee; married on Nov 5, 1911. I acquired the marriage certificate for their baby sister, Louise Sallings (Cora). She married Charles Ingram of Texas on Nov 4, 1920.
My Ggrandmother, Zenobia Belle Sallings (Billie) married O.P. Killion on Oct 10, 1900 and they divorced in the 1910's and she married Frank E. Williams, Postmaster for Minturn, AR on Dec 15, 1922.
I don't have any info on Jennie's marriage to George Hodge or Ellie's marriage to John Thomas.Would appreciate any info on these and of course the mystery of ME Ridgeway Johnson.
Thanks for your help
Chris
