Soloman R. Salisbury b 1805VT - 1885MI.

Soloman R. Salisbury was born in Vermont in 1805 and married there to Sarah ?, their 1st child Mary M, was born in Vermont abt 1331. Their second daughter, J. Cornelia was born in NY abt 1834. So this family moved to New York and possibly stayed with relatives and sometime after that they moved on to Michigan. There third daughter, Orvilla, was born in Michigan abt 1838. They settled in St. Joseph County, just east of Cass County, in the town of Colon. There they had a small farm and had five more children. 4th child, Willis (could be possibly William), born abt 1840. 5th child, Sarah S, born abt 1843 in Michigan. 6th child, Solomon R Jr, born abt 1844 in Michigan. 7th child Charles, was born in NY abt 1846. Did she go back to family to have this child?? 8th child, Allen, born in Colon, MI 1848 and died in Colon, MI 1913. This child never left home and he was a slow child. After Allen is born his wife Sarah dies (no idea where she is buried or when she died) and Soloman married Lousia Bartlett (born NY abt 1820 and dies on the family farm in 1889) and they have two more children. 9th child, 1st child of Louisa, Candance Alida born 1856 in Colon, MI and dies on the family farm in 1926. 10th child, son of Louisa, Alvin Bartlett born 1859 in Colon, MI and dies of TB 1900 in Sheridan County, NE (My G Grandfather). Only have information on Allen, Alida, and Alvin, do not know where the other children went. Nor do I know Soloman's parents or if he had siblings. Nor do I know Louisa's parents or if she had siblings.

My thinking is that Soloman moved to NY to be with some family members and possibly moved to Michigan with family and friends about abt 1837. There were other Salisbury's in St. Joseph County, a Laurence & a David. Have not found anything on them. But have always felt maybe there was a relationship. I am at a dead end with Soloman and any of the other family members. Could not find a death notice or cert. for him either. But I have been to their graves on a trip to Michigan in 2004, they are buried In Lakeside Cemetery in Colon, MI.

Hoping someday to connect with someone that has information on Soloman's family.

Thanks, Carol
