I don't know if Robert Ryland Sale is the same listed in the 1850 Caroline Census. I would agree that the death index does imply that Frances Sale would be Robt R Sale's mother.

There is a Caroline Co marriage register with John Sale marries Fanny Samuel, Mar 31, 1801. Fanny and Frances may be the same person. If Fanny was married at 21 years, she would also have been born about 1780.

Where did the names of John Sale and Mary Ellen James come from? I am trying also to find out info on John. Any info is appreciated.
