Debra I just recently started tracing my Sale family and seen this posting

When I started I only had bit and pieces of information, as my father would never talked much about his family. I have since discovered that there is no doubt, that the information you posted leads to a connection to my family. I will send you the info I have put together from various sources,if you want to send me your current e-mail address. so you can see if you are interested in the information I have. My Father name Is also Simon Sale He was probity named after the Simon Sale From Kentucky, He was born April 2,1899 Even though he spent his adulthood in East St. Louis, Illinois where he raised his family, He was from Renault Ill. formally know as Glasgow city, Ill. which is in Monroe County, and Warterloo, is the county seat.
I don't know what part of the US. you live in, but I live in Belleville, Ill. which is about 15 miles east of St. Louis Mo. and about 25miles north of Waterloo,Ill. I am going to go down to cemetery in Renault in a few weeks to see if I can find any information and will stop at the library in Waterloo to check the old news papers for info, and obituary's, providing the weather is good and my health holds out. The one thing I noticed you never mentioned if Simon Sale was Jewish. My father always said he was a German Jew, and he would only say his mother was a Yankee, I also noticed that both parents of Simon from Ky., were from Bavaria, and that Gertrude's mother was from Bavaria and her father was from Prussia. that information came from the 1980 census at Glasgow city, Monroe,Illinois.

I will wait for your response, and than I will send the other information I have. My E-mail address is Dsale5678@charter.net

THANK YOU Don Sale
