Nelson Pate Sale of Bedford, Virginia was my great, great grandfather who married Ann Aiken WhartonDec. 2, 1822 His son Edmund Wharton Sale married Mary Elizabeth Stewart October 13, 1869. Ann Aiken Wharton was the daughter of John Wharton and Sallie Lilbourne Logwood m. June 1, 1797. Sallie was daughter of Major Thomas Logwood b. 1740 d. Sept. 10, 1821 and Ann Aiken. He fought in the Revolutionary War. I am coming to Lexington 8/23/02 for a few days and would like to meet any relatives in the area of Bedford, Lynchburg, Lexington.
