I had this info in my notes (and in my book), but do not recall the original source ... "... John Brown Money and his family lived near the towns of Ronda and Roaring River which are located near the Yadkin River in Wilkes County, NC. These two towns are located about 8 miles from the town of Elkin on Highway 268. He left North Carolina in four covered wagons after a family feud with his brother Marshall "Marsh" Money."

The following, from my book "Lore and Legacy", was about John Brown Money's father Isaac H. Money ... "... from the Wilkes County Chronicle ... "An inquest was held over the body of Isaac Money ca 70 yrs. old who lived on Hunting Creek, the 28 August 1891 at the home of Jane Myers, of heart disease. He had gone to the Myers house saying he had had a fuss at his home. During the night, he asked Jane Myers for a drink of water and after drinking it, died. He and Jane Myers (sister of his deceased wife Lucinda Myers??) were to have been married, his wife having died some years back." I have this Money family back another 4 generations.

Again, the book's website is at
