From your query below, here is what is listed in my book "Lore and Legacy: A History of the Cheek, Sale and Sparks Families": ... Cornelius was first married to his first cousin, Nancy Sale Martin on May 05, 1803, the daughter of Leonard Sale and widow of Thomas Martin (1803) in Wilkes Co, NC.. They moved to Buncombe County, NC where Nancy died in 1804. As Cornelius and Nancy were only together from May 1803-1804, it is unlikely they had any children, unless she died during childbirth. Apparently Cornelius married Hannah Sluder of Buncombe Co c. 1805 (birth of first child Theophilus, 1807).
