The youngest child of Richard Walker by his second wife, Disa Howard, was Marcus Walker b. 1857-d. 1940 (83yrs old), a Baptist preacher in Wilkes County, and the grandfather of my Husband. In 1938 he wrote a brief autobiography and stated: "Richard Walker, my father, married twice. His first wife was a Miss Sale, to which was borne ten children". (I found in Wilkes marriages the following: Richard Walker and Sina Sale married March 4, 1820. Witness ? Mathis and W. W. Martin. He further stated: "After his death he married Disa Howard ---to this union, nine children were borne, making a total of 19 children. I being the yougest of the entire family. Two boys of the first family and one of the last died in the war between the states". I have been told a lot of the members of this family 'moved west'. Rickey
