SALE appears also to be a French Family name.

Among my ancestors is Michel Boudrot, b. abt 1600 in France; he emigrated to Port Royal, Acadie (now Nova Scotia, Canada) probably in the 1630s. His wife was Michelle Aucoin, whose parents were Martin Aucoin & Marie SALE. Marie Sale's parents were Jean-Denys SALE and Francoise Arnaud. I haven't investigated these folks at all - but SALE seems to have been a family name in France during the 1500's.
