Hi,this is the first time that I have had any luck with this process. May be I am finally learning something about the Internet!
I have researched the Births Deaths and Marriages and found lots of H. Johnstons, etc. It was so confusing and to complicate matters a relative, who has just recently passed away has said that the info. that I have is incorrect. I'm not sure how much I can include in this email but I'll try to give you what I think I know.
Henrietta Johnston is my great grandfather's sister (one of thirteen children, that I am sure of).Her parents were Walter Johnston b. 23.12.1841 in Falkirk, Scotland (d. 25.7.1917 Raglan Victoria) and Mary Jane Padfield b. 18.2.1856 in Raglan Victoria (d. 3.7.1934 in Beaufort Victoria). They were married 26.1.1872 in Beaufort, Victoria. I know that in World War 1, Robert, Henriett's brother, was KIA and she wrote to the Army asking for details on RObert's death and whereabouts as their mother was distraught, and Walet had already passed away. I have the written record from the Army, which included a letter from Henrietta, and she signed her name as Mrs. H. Dellala, C/o P.O. Moe, Gippsland, Victoria. With this information I assumed she married but cannot find record of it. My relative says that she married a Nixon and had Georgina and Robert, but I also found the birth of Royalston Arthur Nixon. Then she said that Henrietta married Dellala and had Angelo, Alex and Fred. I have found all sorts of BDMs and I'm totally confused as nothing adds up.
I have Hette Johnston marrying William James Nixon in 1904.I have a Hetta Nixon b. 1911 but no father registered.
Also a Prosperina Cleopatra Nixon b. 1912 but no father.
I also have Henrietta dying as a Nixon.
Does any of this help?
Regards, Chris
