William SAYLOR, NC & GA
Anyone familiar with William SAYLOR who married Georgia C. VANDIVER? They appear together on the 1930 Cleveland Co. NC census, but supposedly they married several years prior to that in GA and lived there for a while. They eventually moved back to GA and died in Gainesville, Hall Co. GA.
I suspect that William may have been the second husband of my great grandmother, Lula Mae HOOD of Winston Co. AL. They married in 1910 in Winston Co. AL (the marriage record says it was the second marriage for both, and his name was listed as William M.) and had 3 children, but he left her by 1920. I don't know if there was an actual divorce or not, though.
Living very near Lula in Winston Co. AL in 1920 was Lucious F. SAYLORS and his wife Nora. Well, Lucious died in 1938 and is buried in Patterson Springs Baptist Church in Shelby, Cleveland Co. NC! He was born in 1899. Was he the son of William and his first wife? The 1930 census entry says he married for the first time at age 16, which would have been about 1895 or so.
This sure sounds like more than a coincidence!
