First, I do not believe that you can ever show that Allen (alt Allin) Sage was ever a Captain. According to the Massachusetts Militia Records (the only place that he ever served) he attained the rank of Cpl. A search of our Patriot Index provided the information found below.

According to the Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors in the War of the Revolution - Allen Jr., Selah, Daniel and brother-in-law, Asa Sparks were all Privates. Allen Sr. was a 2d Lieutenant.
If you can provide some kind of document showing him as a Captain I really would appreciate it.
Also, I have spent more years than I care to mention trying to find proof of the union between Allen and Christina Brant. I have never found one piece of proof at all.
All of the birth records of the children of Allen and his first wife do not exist. According to the County Clerk in Mt. Washington, Berkshire, MA the records from that period were destroyed by subsequent fires. The only way that the children have been assembled is through the efforts of some twenty plus diligent researchers. I, personally, am a descendant of his oldest son, William (b 4 AUG 1782). Allen Jr. lived in the vicinity of Mt. Washington during the birth of all of his children, except possibly Samuel and for sure Comfort. If you can provide some form of proof it would be greatly appreciated by many Allen Sage descendants. We just have never been able to find a thing.
