Yours in an interesting theory. I will try to raise some quetions which I am afraid will not support this connection.
Allen Sage appears on the 1850 and 60 census in Sandisfield, Mass. with a Charlotte Sage. His wife, I assume, althought she is 18 years younger.
The following census matches Allen’s age and location. 1830 US Census Sandisfield, Bekshire Co., MA p. 298
Allen Sage
00 0 0. 0 1 0 0 0 0, 0 1 1 0, 1
Eldest woman matches the age of Allen’s mother Mary Ayrault Sage his father having died in 1828.

Charles Sage [Charles H. Sage, Genealogical Record of the Descendants of David Sage, Charles H. Sage, Pub 1919 Batavia, NY.] reports that Allen had no children which seems to be contracited by the followin census report. Note that age and location match. Althoough he could be caring for other a niece. Note the two other apparently unrelated people in the household.

Allen Sage died Aug 2 1867 according to the Berkshire Courier cited in Hoogs, Cynthia Tryon. Title Death notices from the Berkshire courier 1834 through 1890 / compiled by Cynthia T. Hoogs. Published Great Barrington, Mass. : C.T. Hoogs, [1995] in Berkshire Athenaeum, Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
All the above contradicts the information suggested on
Family Group of Cynthia Macomber, s/o Hannah Macomber & w/o Allen Sage

I would ask the authors of Family Group of Cynthia Macomber to support their claim which connects their Allen with Samuel Sage and Mary Ayrault.
