Hi
I'm trying to find out more info on Charles Sage, particularly the ship he came to New Zealand on.If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. The info I have at the moment is as follows:
"Charles SAGE was born (between 1815-1822) to Charles SAGE & Ann QUILTER.He left England for Canada around 1848 with his brothers (believed to be James & Thomas).Their family still live in Canada to this day.Around 1850 Charles sage came to New Zealand and landed at Wellington.Charles Sage became a boot maker, but also owned his own farm of 400 acres.Charles became good friends of the Parker family and this is how Sarah Ann Parker came to know him.Charles was alot older than Sarah, about 15 or 20 years older.Sarah went to Wellington in 1857 to register the birth of her niece Elizabeth Parker, daugther of Richard and Elizabeth Parker and at this time Sarah married Charles Sage.
Sarah Ann SAGE nee PARKER died 15th May 1870 at Taratahi age 33 yrs. When Sarah died all the children were taken in by neighbours.Charles SAGE remarried Augusina GILLEN in 1880.Charles died at Greytown hospital on 19th Dec 1884.He had lived in New Zealand for 33yrs."
