Hello Paul,
Thank you for writing to me.
As you can see, I have very little information on your Sagadin family. Your grandfather and I had corresponded only a couple of times before he passed away. So any information you would like to share with me would be appreciated.
A few years ago, while searching my own Sagadin family, I discovered several different families, and was curious to see if and how they connected. I am almost certain they do.
I wrote to all the Sagadin's I could get addresses for. I sent all the information I had, on the family I thought they came from, and asked them to make any additions or corrections. From the responses I received, I was able to connect several Sagadin families to each other, but at that time, none to mine. My Sagadin family came from Slovenia to Wisconsin and on to Washington state, and then to California. Just recently, I have connected one of the Sagadin families to my own.
The internet is such a beautiful thing...I was contacted by several Sagadin 'cousins' in Slovenia who have been able to fill me in a great deal with the Sagadin family there, as well as translating documents etc.
My great grandfather, Josef Sagadin came from Sestrze, Slovenia, which is not far from Makole, Slovenia where your grandfather came from. Both of these villiages are in the same parish.
You can reach me at my e-mail address...

Looking forward to hearing from you.
