Robert Safley of Cohoes, New York supposedly had a son born in 1828/1829 by the name of A.F. Safley (or Safely). We cannpt verify what the itnitials A.F. stand for. He attended the Albany Medical College and graduated in 1852. He volunteered in the 10th NY Volunteers shortly after the beginning of the Civil War and was seriously wounded in the 2nd Battle of Bull Run. He died, probably in NY State in 1869.
