Vickie -- This is what I know . . . .It may not be a lot, but maybe it will help out a bit.
Sarah Saufley was born 29 Dec 1818, died 9 Oct 1872 in Rockingham Co., VA. She was indeed the daughter of George Saufley, who married Anna Seevely (Sievely . . . . whatever, there are a million and one different spellings) who was the daughter of Joseph Sievely (b. abt 1722 in Germany) and Catherine Rush (b. 1735 in Baden, Germany). Both of Sarah's parents died in Virginia USA.
There is a lot of confusion because of the apparent similarities between the Saufley/Safley/Sievely/Scivally names, but no, there doesn't appear to be in-breeding: George & Anna seem to have come from completely different families. (I have "spoken" -- in other words e-mailed -- with the person doing research on the Sievely/Scivally line, and there appears to be no direct connection between the 2 families except by marriage and apparent name-spelling.)
Sarah's husband, Hammond P. Hahn, was born 22 Dec 1812 and died 1 May 1868 in Rockingham Co., VA.
I hope this helps.
If there are any other blanks I can fill in, I'll try (but no promises); you can e-mail me at [email protected] if you think there's any other info I can provide. (I do have childrens' names, if that's what you're looking for.)
I hope this helps.Sammi
