The place where the letters and notebooks were stored was in a loft over a grage or barn at a Doctors home in RI.
I don't know which town, and the Dr was old at that time, in the 70's,so I don't believe there would be anyone alive now who would remember. They were stored there I believe by Stanley Safford, who I have since found out was Edward's nephew.
I wish I could be of more help, but that is about all the information I have.
All the Safford's in my line after the original family arrived and settled in Ipswich, came from the CT area of Preston, Canterbury and a few went to Royalton VT. and then came back to Canterbury.
Hope this helps.
Carol
