1. Minuteman in Revolutionary War
received 250 acres of land after the war for services... "two hundred and fifty
acres as Bounty... per certificate of E. Clark, Colonel." Note: Have never found
confirmation of this through the Georgia Department of Archives and History.
2. War rosters do not show Reuben, do show his brothers Daniel, William and
Samuel

Note: 1790 Georgia census (and other Georgia records) show three Saffolds in the
state: John in Washington County and Reuben and Daniel in Wilkes County. Reuben
and Daniel are sons of William and Temperance; unknown who John is. 1820 Dallas
County, Ala. census shows a Drury Saffold, and 1830 Dallas County, Ala. census
shows a James Saffold (no Drury).
