I have a book entitled,Guayanilla, Barrio Pasto, Genealogia del Apellido Saez. It states that the first Saez in Guayanilla came from Mayaguez but originally from Cuba. They were brothers, Celedonio, Narciso & Octavia Saez Morales. They acquired a farm in Barrio Percha(Pasto)(1850). My ancestors were, Narciso Saez Morales,father of Toribio Saez, father of Jose Saez,father of Juanita Saez my grandmother. The author, Dr. Florencio Saez Fontany notes that the brothers were probably from Cardenas,Matanzas, Cuba but origianally from Spain.
The name Saez is a variant of Sainz & Sanz. The name was popular in a town called Alicante, providence of Valencia, Spain.
