Hello A Captain Sackville of Fitzjames Irish cavalry regiment, serving in the French army, was wounded fighting against the British army at the battle of Fontenoy in 1745. He may have been a son of Thomas Sackville, an English gentleman and the son of Colonel Sackville, who married Elizabeth Darell at Saint-Germain-en-Laye in France on the 7th January 1702, and died on the 29th May 1732. Does anyone have any ideas on this, or suggestions on where I can look? Thanks, Bill Notify Administrator about this message?
